Oliver T. Carr Jr. - Chairman and CEO, Carr Companies

Oliver T. Carr, Jr. oversees strategic planning and operation of Carr Companies which has been part of the Washington DC real estate industry since 1918. As the Founder of The Oliver Carr Company (1962) and CarrAmerica (1993), Mr. Carr has developed over 11 million square feet of office, retail, residential and hotel properties in the Washington, DC region and managed 26.3 million square feet of commercial space in 12 markets across the country.

An inductee of the Washington Business Hall of Fame, Mr. Carr is also Chairman Emeritus of George Washington University’s Board of Trustees, former Director of the Greater Washington Board of Trade and a former Trustee of the Federal City Council. In 2016, he was awarded a Lifetime Achievement Award by the Urban Land Institute – Washington. In addition to Carr Hospitality and Carr City Centers, Mr. Carr is Founder and Chairman of Carr Workplaces, a national workplace solutions company, and Rising Stars, 501(c) (3) Private Foundation dedicated to the support of organizations which help “at-risk” children succeed in their lives, especially as the result of their preparation for work. The Carr Companies are focused on helping build a sense of community wherever they are active in collaboration with local government and not-for-profits to help people thrive regardless of their station in life.
